    Education :
    • BE/ BTech will be prefered
    • MCAs can be considered
    Experience :
    • 4- 6 years in which atleast 2 years must be in Core Java development and testing (exclude candidates who have worked on only JSPs, Servlets and EJBs).
    • Core Java includes the following:
      • Multithreading and concurrent programming
      • Garbage collection and memory management
      • Collections
      • I/O or NIO
      • Exception handling
      • Logging
      • Reflection
      • Properties
    Specifications :
    • Experience in working on a product is most desirable. Short term projects (9 months or less) are not desirable and will not be considered as part of the relevant experience.
    • Must have worked on Java 1.5 or above with strong experience in Generics. Sun Certification on the Java Programming Language would be an enormous advantage.
    • Must have worked on any database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle for at least 1 year.
    • The role requires designing and developing performance- and memory-optimal algorithms and services. Experience in these would be most desirable.
    • Experience on core/basic design patterns is highly desirable. This does not include Singleton.
    • Knowledge of compound design patterns such as MVC is not mandatory, though would be advantageous.
    • Experience in deploying Java services on any one application server is mandatory, such as Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, etc.
    • Must have good experience on JDBC, web services and POJOs.
    • Knowledge of XML (just knowledge, Iím not looking for experience in specific XML technologies)
    • Must have worked on Eclipse
    • Must have experience with JUnit or Ant or Maven in automated or manual product builds.
    • Must have good oral and written communication skills since the candidate will be required to communicate and discuss his/her design ideas, code choices and plans with the rest of the team.
    • Experience in web programming - JSPs, Servlets, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX - would be an added advantage.
    • Must be experienced in designing and implementing secure J2EE applications including authentication, authorization, SSL, HTTPS, Roles, ACL, managed security, etc.
    • Must be experienced in designing and implementing high-performance systems. Experience on load-balancing and fault tolerance will be an added advantage.
    • Must have developed, deployed and managed applications on Apache Tomcat. Must be comfortable debugging security, connection pooling, performance and deployment issues on Apache Tomcat, either on Windows or on Linux.
    • Experience on designing and developing applications using either Struts or Spring is mandatory. If Struts, then the candidate must have worked on securing Struts applications. If Spring, then experience on Acegi is mandatory.
    • Must be high quality-focused; must have strong debugging skills and must be experienced in debugging tools and techniques.
    • Must have a solid understanding of core CS principles including algorithms and data structures
    • Experience in any one GIS would be an added advantage
    • Must be willing to work in a startup environment
