    Background and Objectives

    The client is a full service organization specializing in geographic information systems - development, cadastral / parcel mapping, aerial photography and Photogrammetry. The client has a tradition of providing comprehensive mapping solutions to the local government and private-sector.

    The project involved the development of an application to calculate the acreage of land area resulting from the overlay process of polygon layers over a section. The objective was to generate a final shapefile of overlaid layers with attached attribute data containing acreage of linear debasement with respect to land use, soil type, and parcels to assist in tax calculation
