Magnasoft celebrates GIS Day
Being an integral part of the GIS industry, Magnasoft celebrated the WORLD GIS Day on November 16, 2005, at its office premises with great aplomb.
To mark the advent of the Special Occasion, a wide array of events were contrived, to unveil the essence of GIS, which is revolutionizing government, education, environmental protection, health care and many other fields in conducting routine operations. The focus of the Celebration was to define the importance and bounties of GIS in the present day scenario.
The whole atmosphere on D-Day was blanketed with gaiety and enthusiastic participation from employees across all departments of the Organization.
Badges summoning GIS Day were distributed and informative posters adorned the company premises. Competitions for the employees kindled the flow of creative and innovative ideas.
All in all the GIS Day celebrations created awareness of GIS among the employees, to explore its use in solving real-world business problems. Departments such as the Application Development, Data Development and the Photogrammetry Department were also briefed about the latest GIS software & technologies.
Next year, Magnasoft plans to arrange lectures in Bangalore schools on GIS day, to spread awareness among school children.
